Well, what’s that in front of us in this HD remaster whose publisher has just decided on the Homeworld Remastered Collection just six days after the official release? The Homeworld Remastered Collection is actually four games in one – Homeworld and Homeworld 2 in its classical and modern, remastered form.
These two games are there in Remastered form with new textures and effects, as well as with high resolution support. If you have not wanted to have a 4K monitor until now, wait until you see the new Homeworld costume on a large diagonal screen!
At the time of its appearance, the original Homeworld was everything: ambitious and innovative, technologically and strategically. As we watched the space odyssey of a whole nation seeking their ancient home or later their account with the old opponents of the eons, the scenes worthy of the most impressive battles from Star Wars, Trek, Galactice, or Macros, were dimmed before us.
As if that was not enough, the combination of classical and ambient music by Paul Ruske was the final signature of a master on this instant mastrpiece. In 2003, a full-fledged sequel to Homeworld 2 came out and modernization and simplification of the management interface were made, as well as some changes in the mechanics that made the game to be less hard core and more accessible to a larger number of players.
The team responsible for this collection is one of the rare exceptions, both for sound work and new detailed models of all ships and effects during the fight. The remastered version of both games is based on the engine and the Homeworld interface 2. The only real and serious guess is that there are no campaigns from Homeworld: Cataclysm in this collection. Homeworld is as good as it used to be. In its upgraded edition, this collection is a mandatory lecture for every fan of the RTS genre.
